The Blind Spot
Every child who experiences sexualised violence or abuse is one too many
The series of portraits of children affected is one of Evas special projects. She has dedicated her artistic and social entrepreneurial work to the service of these survivors. With her project Body Voices, she makes the individual visible and thus gives a voice to those deprived of it and want to reclaim it.
The Blind Spot is a series of twelve images, each showing a child victim. A quote from the perpetrator or from the silent observer is added to the child's photograph. The contrast between the children's faces and the statements reveals the absolute absurdity of these crimes.
The artist would not be able to do her work if she did not feel deep hope in her heart. Hope of being seen, of being cured and of a life of joy and freedom. That is why she allows a piece of hope to grow as a symbol for each child.
